Services at St George's, Nailsworth

We are a town church and offer a variety of services which we hope will suit everyone

1st, 2nd and 4th Sunday 9.30am
Family Communion with Sunday school.

Our main Sunday service, following the standard Anglican Communion Service from Common Worship. Our happy choir lead in hymns both traditional and modern and our Sunday school have their own meeting starting just after the opening hymn. Approx duration: 1.10mins followed by refreshments in our Parish Rooms.

1st Sunday each month 11.00am
Family Service in Nailsworth C of E Primary School.

An informal service with lively modern worship/praise songs played by an excellent group of musicians. Songs and other images projected on large screen. We meet at Nailsworth Primary School. Approx duration: 50mins to 1 hour.

2nd Sunday each month 6pm
All Saints, Shortwood (from Dec to March the service is held at 3pm).

We have an evensong service in this lovely little church using the Book of Common Prayer. Approx duration: 1 hour.


3rd Sunday 8am
Holy Communion.

Quiet and reflective, our music free, early morning service follows the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. Approx duration: 40 mins.

3rd Sunday 9.30am
Our Family Service For all ages from 0 – 100!

This is a less formal service and there are no children groups on this Sunday. Mixture of modern and traditional hymns. Baptisms may take place during this service. Approx duration: 50mins followed by refreshments in our Parish Rooms.

5th Sunday 10.00

Normally a united benefice service when folk from our other churches of Shortwood, Kingscote and Horsley are welcomed. Usually a communion service and sometimes prayer ministry is offered during the service. Approx duration : 1.15mins followed by refreshments in our Parish Rooms.

Holy Communion

This service follows the standard Anglican service from Common Worship. Music free. Approx duration: 40 mins Followed by refreshments in our Parish Rooms. Then time for a spot of shopping before lunches are offered in aid of Christian Aid from 12 noon to 1.30pm

Every Friday 9.30am
Little Angels service

For pre-school babies and toddlers, plus mums, dads, grannies and carers. We sing the same simple songs with variation, each week, listen to a story, “play” instruments and end with a short prayer. Approx duration: 30 mins followed by refreshments, chat and play in our Parish Rooms. Approx duration: 1 hour! P.S. Brilliant way for new young families to get to know other families in Nailsworth.
